Ride Share?

Shortly after releasing tickets, we put out a survey on the site to see if there would be any interest in RFTB implementing a third party Ride Share service.

We figured it could work something like this:

  • Drivers: opt in to enter your starting point and number of seats in your vehicle

  • Passengers: Search for drivers from your area, connect with them to secure a seat.

Unfortunately we didn't get enough responses - none from drivers - so we have decided not to subscribe to a third party ride share service for RFTB 2026.

However:

  1. We have recreated the survey below as a poll in this post for anyone who wants to let us know whether this service would be valuable for future events. Our expectation is that ride share service would be run by third party software. We would register our event details and provide a private link from our website, then drivers and passengers would sign up voluntarily and make their own arrangements and agreements for travel. Two questions below; one for drivers, one for passengers.

Drivers: if a Ride Share service were available for future RFTBs, I would be willing to offer a lift in my car to others near me who wish to attend RFTB.

  • Yes

  • No

Passengers: it's difficult for me to catch a bus or get there myself. If a Ride Share service were available for future RFTBs, I would use it.

  • Yes

  • No

  1. Feel free to use the comment section of this page to offer / request lifts.

If you do attempt to arrange lifts with each other in the comments section, remember that this is a public website, and that any information shared is at your discretion and your own risk. Our suggestion is that you use this page to announce any offers / requests, then find a way to communicate through more secure means.

At this stage, without further knowledge of whether there is interest, this is all we can offer for this year. Hopefully it's enough to bring a few more visitors from parts unknown.

This is a test to see if the comment section works. Looks like it does!
